Bandanas, head wraps and turbans compliment any effortless summer look from sea to shining sea. Whether you’re going to the annual Fourth-Of-July BBQ, rocking a retro hair scarf at the pool or hitting the galleria in your turban, here’s how to style these timeless hair accessories.

Bold Bandanas

Whether your hair is curly, straight, tousled, braided or bunned, a bandana will flatter any ‘do. Go patriotic with a red, white or blue scarf, or mix up the scene and choose pastel colors to match the trends this  season. Wrap the bandana around your head and tie the ends at the nape of the neck, or create a more retro look and fasten the ends on the top of your crown.  However you style your bandana, this Fourth-of-July look is both classic and trendy.

Breezy Head Wraps

Who said scarves are just for winter? Take any thin or silky scarf and dress up your look with a summery twist. Here’s three different ways you can style your wrap:

  1. Give yourself a look any hippie craves and wrap your scarf around your wavy locks, tying the ends at the nape of your neck.

Summer Hair Scarf

  1. Start with the middle of the scarf at the nape, make a knot near the start of your middle part, crisscross the ends and tie the scarf off back at the nape of your neck for a turban-look.

  1. Start with the middle of the scarf at the nape and tie a large bow on top of your head. Wear this look with your hair down, or with your hair tied in a bun.
