Charities We Support
American Humane Society

AMERICAN HUMANE ASSOCIATION is the nation's oldest humane organization with a 135-year-old history. We exist as the nation's voice for protecting millions of children and animals each year from abuse and neglect through groundbreaking programs, training, and services. Today, we are also leading the way in understanding human-animal interaction and its role in society.

AGDF logo ANDREW GOMEZ DREAM FOUNDATION provides educational support to cosmetology students and graduates and partners with other charities on an annual basis to jointly raise funds, with a portion of the partnership funds going to each participating charity and the majority going to the Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation.

BEST FRIENDS ANIMAL SOCIETY helps with animal rescue, disaster response, and public education, working with humane groups, individuals, and communities to set up spay/neuter, shelter, foster, and adoption programs. The Best Friends Animal Sanctuary at Angel Canyon, at the heart of the Golden Circle of national parks in southern Utah, is home on any given day to about 2,000 dogs, cats, and other animals, who come from shelters and rescue groups around the country for special care they can only receive at Best Friends.

BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF AMERICA provide a safe place to learn and grow - all while having fun. In every community, boys and girls are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. Boys & Girls Clubs offer that and more through programs and services that instill a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging, and influence. Great futures are started each and every day at Boys & Girls Clubs.

CANCER SCHMANCER MOVEMENT, founded by Fran Drescher, is an education and advocacy organization dedicated to saving lives through prevention and early detection of cancer. By empowering ourselves and the people we love to become medical consumers, listen to our bodies, ask the right questions of our doctors, and seek second opinions, we can prevent cancer and, if we still end up with it, detect cancer in its earliest stages.

CAST (Coalition to Abolish Slavery and Trafficking) aims to assist persons trafficked for the purpose of forced labor and slavery-like practices and to work toward ending all instances of such human rights violations.

CHILDREN'S MIRACLE NETWORK HOSPITALS raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals across North America, which, in turn, use the money where it’s needed the most. When a donation is given it stays in the community, ensuring that every dollar is helping local kids. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $4 billion, most of it $1 at a time. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of our mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

DOLLY PARTON'S IMAGINATION LIBRARY inspires a love of reading and a love of books by gifting a brand-new book each month to over 600,000 preschool children. By working with local sponsors, Dolly has now mailed over 30 million books in her efforts to encourage all children to Dream More, Learn More, Care More, and Be More!

ELSA ELSA (Experience Learning Support with Animals) builds confidence, sensory awareness, and social skills in special-needs children, teens, adults, and families through the benefits of the human-animal interaction in the ranch setting.

FOOD 4 FRICA is committed to supplying at least one vitamin- and mineral-enriched meal each day to the children of South Africa, where the HIV/AIDS epidemic has left countless numbers of orphaned children and more than a million preschool children do not receive sufficient food.

Since 1944, FRED JORDAN MISSIONS has worked on the streets of inner city Los Angeles and throughout the world to help share God's love by providing nourishing food, warm clothing, blankets, and other vital services for helping people in need. Their homeless ministries lend help for needy families through events, programs, and services including: feeding the homeless on Thanksgiving, Christmas help for needy families, Back to School events, and providing resources to organize food, clothing, and toy drives.

GARY SINISE FOUNDATION serves our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. They do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities. “Serving Honor and Need” is the cornerstone of the foundation, which is built upon its founder’s lifelong principles and longstanding commitment to be a citizen of action and to help the people who serve our country.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY has worked in Haiti for more than 27 years. Prior to the earthquake, Habitat had provided housing solutions for more than 2,000 families in Haiti. Soon after the earthquake, Habitat set a goal of serving 50,000 families over five years, helping them move toward safer, more secure, permanent places to call home. To date, Habitat's construction activities have benefited more than 40,000 families. Paul Mitchell Schools are supporting Habitat Haiti in honor of Vidal Sassoon.

THE LARRY KING CARDIAC FOUNDATION was established in 1988 to provide funding for life-saving treatment for individuals who, due to limited means or no insurance, would otherwise be unable to receive the treatment and care they so desperately need. The Foundation works in conjunction with hospitals throughout the nation to ensure that such patients receive proper medical attention. Doctors performing these surgeries do so at no charge. Hospitals are compensated only for the materials used. Hearts are repaired. Families are given another chance. Lives are saved.

THE LEEZA GIBBONS MEMORY FOUNDATION (through its signature program, LEEZA'S PLACE) provides caregivers and their loved ones impacted by chronic illness with support, guidance, and referrals as well as a calendar full of programs designed to educate, empower, and energize.

Since 1991, the MAGIC JOHNSON FOUNDATION (MJF) has served and enriched urban communities nationwide. MJF has evolved from an HIV grant-making organization to one that advocates for community-based organizations and supports educational empowerment through HIV/AIDS education, testing, and awareness work; minority college access; and digital literacy. Additionally, the Magic Johnson Foundation provides inner city youth access to social activities and outings such as professional sports events and holiday parties otherwise unavailable to them.

MORRIS ANIMAL FOUNDATION is a nonprofit organization that invests in science that advances veterinary care for companion animals, horses, and wildlife. We are the global leader in animal health science, and our funding helps more species in more places than that of any other organization in the world.

NO LIMITS offers a one-of-a-kind national theatre group and an after-school educational program that enhance the confidence and communication skills for low-income deaf children, as well as provides underserved deaf children with the leadership and academic skills to be college ready.

Wells of Hope logo WELLS OF HOPE is committed to responding to the cry of the poor and helping them attain the basic necessities of clean water, education, and basic health care.

Paul Mitchell Schools Support Local Charities in 2014

Paul Mitchell Schools have always been active in their local Boys and Girls Clubs, toy drives, and other community events. Each year, hundreds of students cut hair and help out at Mother’s Day and back-to-school events at the Fred Jordan Missions in Los Angeles’s skid row, attended by thousands of women and children. Every winter, students and staff members all over the country pamper and bring holiday cheer to nursing homes and senior centers on “Ann Bowler Day,” a tradition that honors senior citizens. On 9/11, Veterans Day, and other holidays, students and staff members hold special events and fundraisers to honor their community’s first responders, military service men and women, and police and firefighters.
