How We Give Back
2010 Campaign Results
Future Professionals from Paul Mitchell Schools spent the months of February through April raising money for their annual charity “FUNraising” campaign. This year’s efforts raised a record-breaking $1.2 million, bringing the seven-year total to more than $4.6 million.
The results were announced at a gala celebration hosted by TV and radio personality Leeza Gibbons and Paul Mitchell Schools Dean and Cofounder Winn Claybaugh, with special guests Donny Osmond, Larry King, John Paul DeJoria, and Angus Mitchell.
Why are Paul Mitchell Future Professionals so passionate about raising money for charity? “Giving back is a cornerstone of our philosophy,” Winn Claybaugh says. “Of course we teach the skills needed for a successful career, but we also teach the skills needed for a successful life, and those include being nice and giving back.”
Most of the money comes from grassroots events like cut-a-thons, hair shows, car washes, bake sales, and casual days, with average donations of $5 to $10. The 2010 funds were distributed to five selected organizations:
- Leeza Gibbons Memory Foundation
- Larry King Cardiac Foundation
- Children’s Miracle Network
- Food 4 Africa
- Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation
