Paul Mitchell Uses Gray Water Recycling Systems

by Gray Water Recycling Systems on 12/3/2010

At Paul Mitchell, "...reduce, reuse, recycle and respect" is not just a marketing  slogan, it's a way of life, a mission.  When they designed and built their new "flagship" salon school, Paul Mitchell The School, in Costa Mesa they wanted their actions to exemplify the company's commitment to actualizing this mission.

The Costa Mesa facility is the first beauty school in the world to recycle and re-purpose water from Wash House sinks and laundry.  To achieve this Paul Mitchell integrated a Water Recycling System designed and installed by Gray Water Recycling Systems of Redondo Beach, California, a leading environmental resource company specializing in providing innovative and practical water conservation systems.

Buzz Boettcher, founder of Gray Water Recycling Systems stated, "Paul Mitchell is deploying a state-of-the-art system that captures gray water and, through a unique filtration and disinfection process, allows it to be safely and automatically reused for flushing toilets and ultimately irrigation. Unlike other 'source point' gray water systems, the final water product is bacteria free, meeting California Health Department Title 22 Standards for bacteria levels in recycled water. In taking a proactive role in water conservation, and recognizing the need to be the solution, Paul Mitchell is a role model in helping to protect our natural resources."

The Paul Mitchell Green Team's proactive environmental efforts at the school will be annually saving over 400,000 gallons of water.

Paul Mitchell is the clear market leader in their industry, and they chose the clear market leader for their water recycling needs. Details and additional photos of this landmark Water Recycling System can be found at www.reusegraywater.com or by calling 310-463-2634.
