We Remember: Paul Mitchell Schools Announce Plans for 9/11 Tribute Events in 2014

Each year since the tragic attacks on September 11, 2001, Paul Mitchell Schools have held some type of event in remembrance of the precious lives lost that day. This year, schools have announced plans to host fundraising events for local police, firefighters, their widows and orphans funds, and even for rescue dogs. Other schools will invite police, firefighters, military, and first responders to stop by for free services or other special events.

Charity Begins at Home: Paul Mitchell Schools Donate $133,000 to Local Charities

In the past 11 years, Paul Mitchell Schools have raised and donated over $13.3 million to a variety of charitable organizations. This year, they added a new twist to their “giving back” philosophy by pledging a portion of the $2.1 million they raised in their annual FUNraising campaign to charities in their own local communities. Their local donations came to a grand total of $133,640.

Wigs 4 Kids received a surprise email from cosmetology leader Paul Mitchell Schools and the Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation stating the foundation’s Board of Directors was granting Wigs 4 Kids a $25,000 donation with funds raised primarily by Paul Mitchell students and faculty.

Caesars Palace was a sea of black and white and beautiful hair when 2,500 cosmetology students arrived for Paul Mitchell Schools’ 29th annual Caper event. The 3-day educational extravaganza featured world-class hair shows, hands-on classrooms, and inspiration from the likes of singer-songwriter Marie Osmond, comedian and inspirational speaker Kathy Buckley, deaf actor John Autry, and motivational speaker and author Lizzie Velasquez.

Paul Mitchell Schools Surpass Goal in Anti-Sex-Trafficking Signature Drive

Throughout the month of July, 16,000 future professionals from the 100-plus Paul Mitchell cosmetology schools decided to take a stand for freedom and combat the plight of child sex trafficking in America. During their “31 Days of Freedom” campaign, students and staff from the nationwide network raised awareness about the issue while collecting signatures for the 13A Petition – a letter asking President Obama to allocate additional resources to anti-trafficking efforts in the United States. With a goal of 100,000 signatures (1,000 per school), they invited family, friends, and guests to sign the online petition. The results are in and they overwhelmingly surpassed their goal by collecting 178,637 signatures in just one month!
