Paul Mitchell Schools Give to the "Red Cross" of the Beauty Industry
by How You Can Give Back on 5/1/2008Each year, Paul Mitchell Schools spend the months of February, March, and April raising money for several worthwhile organizations. The $25,000 donated to the NCA Disaster Relief Fund will provide monetary grants of approximately $1,500 for 12�15 beauty industry professionals and future professionals in the wake of a natural disaster.
NCA Executive Director Gordon Miller says, �The money is used to provide emergency financial relief to salon professionals whose lives and careers have been interrupted by natural disaster. "
Gordon adds, "We learned from Hurricane Katrina that what seemed like a small amount of money gave people not only the help they needed immediately but sometimes gave them the mental resolve to get past what seemed insurmountable in their lives. We�ve learned that these donations are really important and that�s why we do them quickly. We�re kind of like the Red Cross of the beauty industry. The power of these donations to help these people keep it together in a very difficult time has been proven time and time again.�
