As our co-founder John Paul DeJoria has famously said, "Success Unshared is Failure." That's why our Future Professionals at Michael's School of Hair Design, A Paul Mitchell Partner School, are proud and excited to give back through local events and our annual three month FUNraising campaigns. In fact, since 2004, Paul Mitchell Schools throughout the country have raised more than $13.3 million for charities in their communities and around the world.
Giving back is a huge part of the Paul Mitchell culture! Like all Paul Mitchell Schools nationwide, Michael’s raises funds every year for various charities, such as Habitat for Humanity, The Gary Sinise Foundation, Children’s Miracle Network, and Morris Animal Foundation to name a few. In 2015, Michael’s raised over $22,000 for these and other very worthy causes.
Raising funds to support Breast Cancer Awareness is also an annual event at Michael’s with the Passionately Pink Party, for which we happily generate the most donations. In 2014, the School raised $2,700 for the American Cancer Society in just one month!
While we continue to support these nationally recognized charities, we also support local ones that are extremely important to us. For example, during our 9/11 Tribute, we support the Animal Rescue League of NH and the NH/VT Search and Rescue Dogs, raising $300–$500 at each event.
Michael’s has adopted the Manchester Animal Shelter and our John Paul Pet Club visits the shelter on a monthly basis to help take care of the animals. You’ll also find the School collecting donations for items on the Shelter’s “Wish List,” such as boxes, dog treats, cat food, etc.
In 2009, the School was the proud recipient of the Spirit of NH Award presented by our governor. The Award, with its motto of “People Helping People,” recognizes volunteer recipients who go above and beyond for their organization through their dedication, time, community involvement, citizenship, and generosity.
