3 Paul Mitchell Future Professionals Win Vidal Sassoon Scholarships

Diagnosed with leukemia in 2009, beauty industry icon Vidal Sassoon passed away in 2012 at age 84. In his honor, two scholarships were created: the basic scholarship, which provides ten cosmetology students half of their tuition, and the advanced scholarship, which allows ten licensed hairstylists professionals to attend advanced training at a Vidal Sassoon Academy. This year, three of the ten student winners are from Paul Mitchell Schools!

Amber Valdez and Isabelle Wills from Rudy and Kelly Academy, and Lucy Mora from Paul Mitchell The School Logan won the Vidal Sassoon Basic Scholarship, which pays for 50% of their tuition (up to $10,000 tuition) at a qualified school.

Paul Mitchell Schools' Dean and Cofounder Winn Claybaugh said, "Vidal Sassoon was one of the best friends the beauty industry ever had. Our Paul Mitchell Schools were honored to work directly with him on several charitable causes, and we were grateful for his generous example. For our Future Professionals to benefit from a scholarship bearing his name is truly an honor.”
