"What's the Big Idea" Winners Announced

Brilliant ideas for new products happen every day. Most of them end up in the wastebasket because people have no idea where to take them. That's why John Paul DeJoria, chairman and cofounder of John Paul Mitchell Systems, created the WHAT'S THE BIG IDEA? contest — to give Paul Mitchell future professionals and team members the opportunity to turn their inspired concepts into real-life products.

Contestants submitted their two-minute videos, showcasing their BIG IDEAS for hair care products, tools, and professional salon services.

Three finalists won a trip to Los Angeles to pitch their Big Ideas to John Paul in person:

  • Heather Lord, Future Professional at Paul Mitchell The School Costa Mesa
  • Shauna Nieporte, Future Professional at Paul Mitchell The School Cincinnati
  • Michele McCleary, Learning Leader at Paul Mitchell The School Richland
