Master Sergeant Cedric King: A Journey of Resilience
Master Sergeant Cedric King proudly joined the U.S. Army in 1995. Over a remarkable 20-year career, he distinguished himself by graduating from prestigious programs, including the Army Rangers, Jumpmasters, and Pathfinders.
In 2012, during his second deployment in Afghanistan, Cedric faced a life-altering event when an IED caused severe internal injuries, resulting in permanent damage to his right arm and hand, and the amputation of both legs. Remarkably, Cedric now views this challenging moment as his "finest hour."
Less than two years later, he achieved a significant milestone by completing the 2014 Boston Marathon. Since then, Cedric has participated in numerous marathons, ultramarathons, and Ironman triathlons, showcasing his incredible determination.
While on the road to recovery, he also earned his bachelor's degree and began sharing his inspiring story of perseverance and endurance as a speaker and author of "The Making Point."
