Usually, we like to identify a Future Professional who goes above and beyond daily when they’re in school. This month we’re not recognizing just any Future Professional. Instead, we have nominated a Protégé of the month! Protégés are newer to the Clinic Classroom and feel the most pressure when it comes to guests and services because they are just getting started on the floor. One Protégé who has stood out to their Learning Leaders for their constant positive attitude, willingness to accept new challenges, and overall progress is Madison Hernandez. Madison not only shows up every day with a smile on her face but she comes to school with a mindset like a visionary.
We spoke with Madison to learn more about her experience within these first few short months of her time here at PMTS Colorado Springs. Before she began her program, Madison admits she was afraid that people would be negative and unwilling to help each other. She said she was surprised with positivity whether it’s the way everyone speaks to one another or the positive notes of love and support we share around the campus. She told us how she was scared to be by herself in the clinic classroom but quickly realized she should never second guess herself. Madison experienced newfound confidence out on the clinic floor and learned to stay true to herself with the help of her two biggest mentors, Mr. Brett and Maggie. For all future or current Protégés, Madison wants you to know that it is OKAY to make mistakes, ALWAYS ask for help, and set a GOOD example for your peers. We are so proud of Madison and can’t wait to see where her education will take her!
