Meet some of the team members who make Pulse Beauty Academy, A Paul Mitchell Partner School, so special.

Adam Sahagian

Dean / Founder

Experience in education…

I am a former national educator for John Paul Mitchell Systems, and have been a school owner/educator for the last decade.

Experience in the beauty industry…

I've been a hairstylist for more than 20 years, a former salon owner, and winner of the Avant Garde Division of the International Beauty Show.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

I’ve had so many great people who have inspired me that it’s difficult to name one. John Paul always inspires me; John Turnage and Sandy Matos are two school owners who have inspired me to be both a better school owner and a better man; my wife and kids also inspire me to greatness.

My favorite thing about working at Pulse Beauty Academy, A Paul Mitchell Partner School is…

I get to see and be inspired by brilliant educators at work every day, and I get to see the lives of our Future Professionals changed as a result. It’s awesome.

To me, living beautifully means…

Being able to live the life I’ve always imagined, spending time with my beautiful family, and putting the petal to the metal in my muscle car or on my Harley.

Gina Schelhammer

Education Leader

Experience in education…

I have been a cosmetology instructor for 20 years and I love it.

Experience in the beauty industry…

I have been in the industry for close to four decades, the first two spent behind the chair and as a state board examiner.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

I’ve been inspired by many people; however, the one that really stands out is my Core instructor in beauty school. She did not let me quit and she had faith in me—faith that kept me in school. Without her, I don’t think I’d be in this profession.

My favorite thing about working at Pulse Beauty Academy, A Paul Mitchell Partner School is…

I enjoy seeing Future Professionals from day one when they cannot do anything, to the day they graduate and how they have grown and become successful in this industry.

To me, living beautifully means…

Enjoying my family and the amount of opportunities that are available to me in this great industry.

Heather Sahagian

Sales Leader

Experience in the beauty industry…

I’ve been in sales for both manufacturers and distributors of professional salon products in the beauty industry. I transitioned into education sales when we opened our school ten years ago.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

My husband is my greatest inspiration. He is an amazing husband, the most incredible father I’ve ever seen, a strong and compassionate leader, and a brilliant hairstylist.

My favorite thing about working at Pulse Beauty Academy, A Paul Mitchell Partner School is…

Being able to spend time with all these incredibly creative, brilliant people! In what other career could I spend time with people who dress up and look runway-amazing every day? What other industry gives their employees permission to make other people look and feel gorgeous and awesome every day? Where else can you work where you’re allowed to express bucketloads of creativity daily? There’s nowhere else I’d rather be!

Never compromise your morals and intentions to fit a certain mold. "Beautiful" comes in all shapes, sizes, intellects, religious beliefs, and so on. If we were all the same, what would be the point?

When I started working at Pulse Beauty Academy, I was a front desk coordinator, so I saw a different side of the education process than what I work with now.
