Gene Juarez, a prominent figure in the beauty industry since opening his first salon in 1971, has been a driving force in shaping the beauty industry. Today, we’re excited to welcome Gene Juarez Academy to the Paul Mitchell Family, aligning with our dedication to top-notch education and beauty services. 

Winn Claybaugh, our Co-founder and Dean, attributes some of our Golden Rules and key philosophies outlined in his book, “Be Nice Or Else!” to the inspiration derived from Gene Juarez. This acquisition is not just a strategic move for growth; it’s a celebration of shared values and a commitment to continue delivering top-notch education in the beauty industry.

A Glimpse into Gene Juarez’s Legacy:

From the first downtown Seattle salon in 1971 to becoming Seattle’s first contemporary fashion salon, Gene Juarez introduced best-in-class service, artistry, and innovative European haircutting techniques. The expansion continued with additional salon locations, an Advanced Training Center, and the establishment of the Gene Juarez Academy in 1987.
