Parisian Beauty Academy
A Paul Mitchell Partner School Team

Meet some of the team members who make Parisian Beauty Academy, A Paul Mitchell Partner School so special.

Harry Comp Jr.

Owner/Director

I was born and raised in Hackensack, NJ. I am a graduate of Hackensack Public Schools, and received a Bachelor’s degree from Farleigh Dickenson University. I am co-owner, along with my sister Penny Muccia, of Parisian Beauty Academy, A Paul Mitchell Partner School. Parisian Beauty Academy was founded by my parents, Harry and Henrietta Comp, in 1949. I love the environment that Penny and I have created with this school, and consider the Future Professionals, staff, and faculty as extended family.

I am always available to serve the community, both personally and through the school. I’ve been past president of the Hackensack Chamber of Commerce and the Hackensack Chapter of Unico as their Man of the Year. My work has brought the beautification program to the Upper Main Alliance and has engaged more and more businesses to join in the improvement of downtown Hackensack and its greater community. Dedicated to raising awareness and funding for many charitable organizations, I am truly a selfless servant to my community. Most recently I received the Hackensack Education Foundation Distinguished Citizen Award for my contribution to the education community.

I am a devoted husband and father; my wife, Lidia, and I together raise two children, Stephen and Christina, and our dog, Brandi.

Experience in education…

I have over 30 years’ experience in the industry.

My favorite thing about working at Parisian Beauty Academy is…

The staff and Future Professionals. Each day they bring me the joy and energy to keep working hard for them. I see their passion and their struggles, and I only want to serve them and help them all achieve their goals.

To me, living beautifully means…

Leading an authentic life. Keeping it real, honest, and loving.

Dany Campusano

Experience in the beauty industry…

I have been in the beautiful beauty industry since 1982, and had my first opportunity in a beauty salon within 30 days of graduation. After  beauty school, I have never stopped working for this wonderful industry. Once I gained my three years as a cosmetologist, I saved money and in 1989 I opened my own salon. I recently closed it to dedicate my knowledge and experience to the new generation in this lovely, beautiful world of beauty, while still being active in the field.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

As an educator since 2005, Ms. Estrada—my  first cosmetology instructor—has been the greatest mentor in this wonderful gift of a job, making and changing people’s lives.

My favorite thing about working at Parisian Beauty Academy is…

There's a high level of respect among the Learning Leaders. (I can say that based on my experience with others institutions.) We work hard but it’s a lot of fun, making sure our Future Professionals get the best education.

To me, living beautifully means…

Having inner peace and love, passion, and a desire to share how much you love what you do.

The family-oriented environment we all work in; there's genuine care for one another.

Experience in the beauty industry…

I've been in the beauty industry for over 15 years, and do everything from freelance, educating, mentoring, competitions, session styling, BTS at shows, and platform work.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

Before I knew so many greats in this wonderful industry, I can remember a name that really stood out to me because of his amazing talent, and that is Nicholas French. I was able to actually go out and assist him at the Premiere Orlando show a few years ago, and it was an experience I will never forget.

My favorite thing about working at Parisian Beauty Academy is…

The fact that we see the Future Professionals in action throughout their journey, and we get to see their growth and what they can and do accomplish.

To me, living beautifully means…

Being on your "A" game at ALL times and that also means being nice. We all have issues and obstacles we have to go through, some more than others; however, we must remain that DAYMAKER that we are meant to be. People in our industry don't just fall into it; you possess a passion and drive for it to be successful. Your attitude and talent is what will take you even further.

Denise Hanrahan

Clinic Floor Leader

Experience in the beauty industry…

I began my journey in the industry during high school where I studied cosmetology. By the time I was  16, I had an assisting job where in fell in love with the salon environment. I knew at that point I was going to do this forever. Throughout the years I have built a clientele and have owned and operated two salons. I continue to work behind the chair along with teaching, to maintain current on all of the latest trends as well as for the love of my craft.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

My children. When I teach, I teach the way I would want my own children to be taught, with love and compassion.

My favorite thing about working at Parisian Beauty Academy is…

That we make learning fun. Our culture is about giving back and sharing, so not only are we creating great hairdressers, we are giving them the skills to live beautifully.

To me, living beautifully means…

See and bring out the best in everyone who comes into your life.

Fran Lillo

Parisian Beauty

Experience in education…

I have been a licensed instructor in all phases of cosmetology since 1990.

Experience in the beauty industry…

I have been a licensed cosmetologist since 1988; I’ve also worked as a stylist, manager, and owner of a salon.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

Choosing a mentor is hard for me because I have been blessed with so many influential and strong mentors in my life; however, today the mentor that I'm going to talk about, that most inspired me, was my senior teacher in beauty school, Barbara Storzillo. She was the most talented hairstylist, most dedicated and informed teacher, and one of the strongest women I have ever had the pleasure of knowing and calling a friend. She gave me many lessons in life, both in our professional field and how to survive as a woman in this world. She was an inspiration to me and her passing was a great loss to our industry, both behind the chair and educationally. Her legacy lives on in the students whose lives she touched and made a difference in.

My favorite thing about working at Parisian Beauty Academy is…

I love so many things about working at Parisian Beauty Academy. I have been a part of the Parisian family since 1994. I worked for the amazing Mr. Harry Comp Sr.—it was like working for family; I loved all of my co-workers and our Future Professionals. And today, since it’s become the business of Mr. Comp’s children, Harry Jr. and Penny, the vibe hasn't changed, the love hasn't changed, and I still work with people that I consider family. I love my job, I love who I do it with, I  love my Future Professionals, and I love being a part of the grooming of the young artists that are going to carry on our industry and take it to new and exciting levels.

To me, living beautifully means…

Waking up every day with my amazing family and knowing that each day is a gift that we should unwrap carefully and slowly with appreciation…that life is too precious and not a moment should be taken for granted. Living beautifully is also loving what you do, which is the only way to great work! Believing in what you stand for, practicing what you preach, being happy, even when it’s hard, because you have to focus on the good and forget the bad, and that's no easy task. Love yourself and believe in your strength! I thank God every day that I have been blessed and, in return, I want to be a blessing to all that cross my path!
