Learning Leader

Experience in the beauty industry…

In my 20+ years in the cosmetology industry, I have been fortunate to work with, teach, and learn from many amazing stylists and professionals. While working behind the chair, I strived for continuing  education to make sure I was always providing an excellent service in what’s happening in today’s beauty industry. I excel in cutting, coloring, texture, and style/ finishing,  but always remain humble and love what I do. I am excited about the opportunities that I have had and the many more to come in the future.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

My mother is my mentor. She is the best. She never judges and remains strong. She came to this country not knowing English and overcame all of the challenges she faced. Raising four girls on her own, she always put us first and helped others—putting herself last at all times. One of my mother’s best traits was always being positive, never putting anyone down. These are the traits I try to instill in my children and others daily.

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Jessup is…

I am given an opportunity to instill knowledge and professionalism into individuals just beginning their life’s journey in this field. With my salon knowledge, I am able to prepare my Future Professionals with real-life experiences.

To me, living beautifully means…

Trying to be honest and positive no matter what comes your way. Always having faith.

Experience in the beauty industry…

Furthering your education in the cosmetology industry is crucial to obtaining success in the beauty industry. Throughout my 11 years in the field of cosmetology, I have taken numerous color, cut, and business classes in order to further my expertise in the beauty industry.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

Ms. Marcia Chesley, my cosmetology teacher. She has guided me in a direction that has led me to nothing but success. I can vividly remember the daily lessons and talks on being confident, having class, and how to dream big.

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Jessup is…

The positive culture of the school and of course the amazing students.

To me, living beautifully means…

Living a life of confidence and truly loving yourself for who you are.

Experience in the beauty industry…

I started my journey in the beauty industry in 2009, having worked in high-end salons in the Maryland area. I have been working as an admissions Leader with Paul Mitchell The School Jessup since its doors opened in January 2013. Building relationships and guiding individuals through the enrollment process are just the beginning of the opportunities I’ve have; I also work closely with high schools, salon managers, and the school owners.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

Diligence, determination, and perseverance are just a few of the invaluable things taught to me by my mother. She encompassed the meaning of a true mentor in so many ways. She always instilled in me the importance of being reliable and never giving up on anything I was passionate about. If I can be half the mentor to my kids as she was to me, I will consider myself profoundly successful. Although she developed skin cancer, her qualities only grew stronger. I am forever grateful for the love and memories that I will cherish forever.

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Jessup is…
