Paul Mitchell The School Missouri Columbia
Team

Meet some of the team members who make Paul Mitchell The School Missouri Columbia so special.

Tess Mason

Admissions Leader/Future Professional Adviser

Experience in education…

I received my education at Xenon International Academy in Kansas. After I worked in a salon for two years, I returned to school to receive instructor education at Paul Mitchell The School Wichita. I am certified in color, cutting, and makeup, and also with Ultimate Face Cosmetics.

Experience in the beauty industry…

After I graduated school, I worked at a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon—that's when I fell in love with Paul Mitchell’s education and culture! I worked in a salon for two years before going back to school for my instructor's license at Paul Mitchell. My passion in this industry is guiding our Future Professionals to their success; I love watching them grow and achieve their dreams.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

All of the Future Professionals inspire me every day. They are the reason why I love what I do; I love working with and guiding them to their goals and what they are passionate about.

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Missouri Columbia is…

The culture. I am very thankful of where I work because it feels like I am around my family every day!

To me, living beautifully means…

“Be the change you want to see in the world.” —Gandhi

Nancy Lohe

Learning Leader; Aesthetics

Experience in education…

I have been a licensed instructor for three years.

Experience in the beauty industry…

For 24 years I've been a licensed beauty professional. I am a trained aesthetician and instructor, certified in cosmetology, specialty wax, and glycolic acid peels.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

Jonita Taggart Anderson, the first salon-spa owner I worked for. She taught me much about the beauty industry. She also taught me to work in small increments of time, instead of waiting until I had a huge block of time to complete a large task, when I was already committed to other projects.

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Missouri Columbia  is…

Watching the Future Professionals morph from knowing little to nothing of this industry, to graduating and getting licensed as confident, accomplished professionals.

To me, living beautifully means…

Staying true to who I am, in all aspects of my life; spending time with my family and friends; helping people see the true potential they possess.

Macie Rose Rustemeyer

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

The Learning Leaders who helped me become successful and pushed me to do better, and Eddie Davis for getting me to join the Paul Mitchell family.

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Missouri Columbia is…

Watching all the Future Professionals make discoveries and get excited about hair! Also the Paul Mitchell culture. We are a family!

To me, living beautifully means…

Following your dreams and living life to the fullest.

Amanda Lynn Smith

Experience in education…

Seven months in the Paul Mitchell education department.

Experience in the beauty industry…

Eight years behind the chair as a hairstylist.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

Nick Arrojo. He inspired me to teach. He told me that if I truly wanted to be great at hair I needed to teach it.

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Missouri Columbia is…

The Future Professionals. Their fresh and creative minds, watching the wheels turn when they are coming up with a new idea, and seeing them light up when they learn something new. I also love the smiles on their faces when they nail it!

To me, living beautifully means…

To love what you do and do what you love. Being kind and opening your heart to people, and making them feel good. Loving where you are and what you have, and at the same time wanting to make it better. Wanting to make yourself better, to be better with how we react with people. How you see and treat people. How you learn from people.

Dani Jeanelle Jensen

Core Specialist, Paul Mitchell School graduate

Experience in education…

Paul Mitchell The School Springfield.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

My parents have inspired me the most. (Both have teaching degrees.) They have always pushed me to do my best. Industry related, my inspiration is Jenny Strebe at The Confessions of a Hairstylist. She kills it on updos; I learn so much from her through social media.

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Missouri Columbia is…

My coworkers. I enjoy that they always have my back. I love being with Future Professionals who have the drive to change the beauty industry.
