Paul Mitchell The School In Costa Mesa
Team

Meet some of the Learning Leaders and team members who make Paul Mitchell The School Costa Mesa so special.

Molly Quirk

Co-owner

Experience in education…

I have been an owner of Paul Mitchell The School Monroe since 2009, and now our Madison branch campus. With more than 20 years in the public and private education sector, I bring knowledge in communication, marketing, financial aid, operations, and accreditation aspects of the business.

Experience in the beauty industry…

I've worked on Paul Mitchell School publications and materials for more than 15 years.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

My mentor and the individuals who have inspired me most are my parents and grandparents. My dad has taught me to work hard and to keep my eye on the ball. Through his leadership, he has never sold the shadow for the substance and instilled my faith in a higher power. My paternal grandparents embraced life’s challenges without complaint, and pushed the status quo with their “mixed marriage,” as it was labeled during that time. My mom has given me passion and imagination, tempered by a sense of humor and lightness of being. My maternal grandparents gave me fortitude, and reminded me that we are responsible for what we do for and bring to the world.

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Monroe is…

The opportunity to be part of young people’s lives and get to know them. Our Future Professionals always remind me of what a gift it is to be young when everything matters and all things are possible.

To me, living beautifully means…

Existing in a good balance—being grateful for both the blessings and the burdens, being aware of the light and dark around us, and being able to give and receive love.

Susan Papageorgio Gouin

Owner

Experience in education…

I graduated beauty school and studied communication and marketing at College of St. Catherine's in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Experience in the beauty industry…

I have worked in the beauty industry as a hairdresser at Horst & Friends Salon. At Aveda Institute, I served as admissions leader, school director, vice president of education, and was co-founder of the Aveda School Program. I founded Inspired Learning in 1998, and served as a consultant to top companies and salons, including Aveda, Regis and Paul Mitchell Schools.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

I learn so much every day and I am so blessed to have passionate and talented people around me to keep my passion alive for our industry.

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Monroe is…

I love our culture and helping our Future Professionals find careers in our industry. I love to do salon tours and visits with them and show them how to be successful.

To me, living beautifully means…

To me, living beautifully means being balanced and focusing on family first, then creating a work environment where you can love what you do, love who you do it with, and love who you are doing it for! My personal motto is "My success is guaranteed!" I believe all experience is learning; that is why I named my company Inspired Learning.
