Tell us about your career path.

I began working as an assistant at Hair By Borga while at Bella Capelli. It gave me a great background for salon life and prepared me for more career opportunities. Shortly after graduating I became Head Nail Tech and Stylist.

How would you say going to a Paul Mitchell School has benefited you?

Going to a Paul Mitchell school gave me the tools to understand the basics of hair, how to style it properly, and how to understand the systems. The dress code and rules gave me a great background for what to expect in the industry to set me up for success.

What do you do?

I meet with all of my guests for consultations and I am always excited to help them look and feel great!

What advice can you give Future Professionals and other people interested in Cosmetology?

Keep working and push through. If it's something you really want, it will all be worth it in the end.

Very educational, I had a lot of opportunities to do more than just a school experience. Going to Bella Capelli gave me confidence to be successful in the professional beauty industry. I received a well-rounded education and I feel like I could be successful in many areas of the beauty industry.

What do you do?

Anything and everything to do with waxing! I love that my job is something different every day. I take time to meet with my guests and talk about what they want and work hard to make them look and feel their best when they leave the studio.

What advice can you give Future Professionals and other people interested in Cosmetology?

Learn from your discoveries! Don't be afraid to make them!

They provide you with a lot of different principles and systems to set you up for success. They set up a sure fire plan to prevent you from failing.

I do it all! I meet with my guests, talking about what their desired results are from their visit, and work to help them achieve those results. I am proud to help each and every one of my guests look and feel their best after they have an appointment with me.

What advice can you give Future Professionals and other people interested in Cosmetology?

Think outside of the box and take advantage of every opportunity you get. Work on building your clientele while in school. It's a great training ground for success!

Tell us about your career path.

After graduating I started working at MAC Cosmetics with a passion for makeup which lead me to start a freelance business, ABL Beauty, for traveling on-location makeup services for weddings! I then started looking into getting certified for lash extensions which lead me to get a much higher clientele than expected! Here I am today at 21-years-old, a salon owner on Route 30! I already created a brand of ABL Beauty which is why I chose to name my salon ABL Beauty!

How would you say going to a Paul Mitchell School has benefited you?

The second I knew I was going to attend a cosmetology school my first and only thought was that I will be attending Bella Capelli! I love the brand and love the way they look at the beauty community!

What do you do?

During the week I am booked Tuesday-Friday with lashes. I typically have clients booked every hour. On Saturdays I'm always on location at a wedding doing makeup!

What advice can you give Future Professionals and other people interested in Cosmetology?

PROMOTE and put your work out there! Advertise everything you do! If you have a dream go for it and never get discouraged. Pamper every client that sits in your chair and give them the best experience they've ever had!

Tell us about your career path.

I came to Bella Capelli right after I completed my college internship at Walt Disny World. My greatest accomplishment is obtaining my dream job that I currently have. I moved 1,000 miles away from home to work at one of the most competitive companies in the world. My end-all goal was to become a Cosmetologist at the Happiest Place On Earth, and I made it!

How would you say going to a Paul Mitchell School has benefited you?

With my education from Paul Mitchell, I was able to adapt and add to my already-learned skills. I obtained a great, flexible education that I am able to use at my current job. What I loved most about Paul Mitchell was the sense of family. I felt like I was important to all the staff and other Future Professionals. I also loved how my education was on-trend. We didn't just learn perms and shampoo sets like some schools!

What do you do?

I maintain the integrity of all our character looks, making sure each one is perfect and camera-ready. From Cinderlla to the animatronics on Pirates of the Caribbean, we do it all!

What advice can you give Future Professionals and other people interested in Cosmetology?

My advice to all Future Professionals is to realize that this is the rest of your life - take it seriously! There is an entire industry out there to explore, not just hair salons! Do your research, make calls, send emails, and start networking! Whatever you end up doing, do it well and love every second!

Tell us about your career path.

After taking a few years to find my place, I am a full-time stylist at Alfredo's Salon of Hair Design in Monroeville. I'm finally working in a place I love and with a team I love. I am lucky enough to say I love what I do every day.

How would you say going to a Paul Mitchell School has benefited you?

Bella Capelli set me up for success by working with students on more than just the practical stuff. I felt prepared to jump into an assisting role, I was comfortable answering the phone, and I was ready to walk into an interview. I feel like BCA taught me more about the industry as a whole than what I ever could have learned from another school.

What do you do?

My favorite thing is making people feel like a million dollars. Whether it's a transformative cut or a relaxing pedicure, I love seeing smiles in my chair.

What advice can you give Future Professionals and other people interested in Cosmetology?

Don't give up! There are going to be times at the start of your career that may discourage you. There might even people people who tell you to quit. Stick to your guns and know what you are worth.

Tell us about your career path.

I started at Mane Attraction as a shampoo assistant and part-time stylist. I have taken extra classes to build my book up and I am currently certified in eyelash extensions and Aqua Tape-In Hair extensions. I'm also the only makeup artist in my salon and I pride myself in making clients feel and look their best.

How would you say going to a Paul Mitchell School has benefited you?

Going to a Paul Mitchell School has benefited me in multiple ways by giving me the most education I could have. There were many opportunities given to me at Bella Capelli to further my education and career.

What do you do?

A typical Tuesday at the salon starts at 10am and doesn't end until about 8:30pm or 9pm. A full book typically consists of anything from a men's cut, to balayage, to eyelash extensions.

What advice can you give Future Professionals and other people interested in Cosmetology?

Take every opportunity you can to further your education and always ask questions if you have them!

Right after graduating, I started working with Hillary Ballard, the owner of Twelve27 Salon, as her personal protege while the salon was under construction. Soon after the salon opened, I completed my program and got a chair. I now specialize in blondes and balayage and will be attending a training in Laguna Beach this fall to become certified in Natural Beaded Row Extensions.

How would you say going to a Paul Mitchell School has benefited you?

Bella Capelli built the foundation of my knowledge. I also discovered my love for social media/marketing and how to express my brand and image through Instagram.

What do you do?

When I am not busy behind the chair (balayages and blonding mostly) I am creating content and styles for my Instagram and for the salon's Instagram.

What advice can you give Future Professionals and other people interested in Cosmetology?

If you want to build a clientele quickly, you need to spend at least an hour a day marketing yourself. Post everything you do on Instagram. Add everyone you know to a business page on Facebook. Marketing yourself is just as important as having talent in this industry.

Raeanne Riberich

Assistant Manager/Lash Artist

Class of 2016 | Cosmetology License | Deka Lash Certified

Tell us about your career path.

After graduating, I decided I wanted to learn how to do eyelash extensions. I was hired at Deka Lash in Shadyside and they gave me paid training to learn how to do extensions! I worked at that location for about a year and then transferred to Deka Lash in Arizona. I am now an assistant manager and I also post on their social media pages. If I wouldn't have gotten my cosmetology license, I would have never found my passion for eyelash extensions!

How would you say going to a Paul Mitchell School has benefited you?

Going to a Paul Mitchell School definitely taught me how to be professional. I learned how to give thorough consultations with clients and that has definitely helped a lot in my career because I can really understand what my clients want. A key point I learned from my teachers was how to keep your clients through personality and skill.

What do you do?

I make people's lives easier by applying eyelash extensions, and making it look like they have mascara/falsies on 24/7. It's a very relaxed environment at Deka Lash, sometimes my clients talk and laugh the whole service, but they also have the option to take a lash nap!

What advice can you give Future Professionals and other people interested in Cosmetology?

Ask your teachers a lot of questions, get the most out of your time in school to learn. If you're interested in cosmetology, go for it because you will learn so much at Bella Capelli.

Tell us about your career path.

When I was in school I assisted in a high-volume salon & spa. It allowed me to see what a fast-paced salon environment would be like. Upon graduating from Bella Capelli Academy, I realized I wanted to work in a smaller salon and work on building my clientele.  I learned so much from having the opportunity to work in different types of salons and that helped me find my home and success at Salon Bella Mia.

How would you say going to a Paul Mitchell School has benefited you?

Going to Bella Capelli Academy set me up for success.  I learned the skills I needed to be successful in different salon environments.  I really enjoyed being a core mentor when I was in Creative. I was able to own the information I learned when I was in Core and assist in teaching the current Core class.  The learning leaders at Bella Capelli Academy were very helpful and were always there to encourage me and set me up for success in the professional beauty industry.

What advice can you give Future Professionals and other people interested in Cosmetology?

Take in everything you have the opportunity to.
