Meet some of the team members who make Paul Mitchell The School Pasadena so special.

Kaylee Sheffer

Service Desk Coordinator/Financial Aid Assistance

Experience in the beauty industry…

In the past, I worked as a receptionist for my hairdresser. Currently, I'm working at Ulta Beauty as a beauty adviser and I'm also enrolled in makeup school.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

My next door neighbor has been inspiring to me. I remember him coming home with a brand new Range Rover and me telling him how jealous I was! He has always been a support to both my sister and me, encouraging us to work hard in life so we can get the things we want.

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Pasadena is…

It’s always a happy environment. It may get crazy busy at times but we always have each other’s backs.

To me, living beautifully means…

Always putting your best foot forward and remembering that life goes by fast...therefore, we shouldn't dwell on the past.

Experience in education…

I have been educating since 2012. I started out teaching basic core of hair coloring, specialized advanced hair color, and creative hair color courses at a Vidal Sassoon connection school. I attended The Vidal Sassoon Academy for continuing education in 2013 and The Paul Mitchell Gathering since 2012 every year, taking specialized education classes in color, cuts, and styling. I recently just relocated to Los Angeles and am now a Learning Leader at Paul Mitchell The School Pasadena.

Experience in the beauty industry…

I have been behind the chair since 2007. I worked in an event space/salon called Pinkie Couture and then transitioned into a boutique salon called Hair Lovin’ in Overland Park, KS. When I am not teaching, I am doing color at an Australian-based salon in Culver City, CA called Ziggy’s Hair L.A. I have six years of experience in high fantasy, special effects, and character makeup. I also do hair for local fashion shows (Fringe Festival, LAFW, KCFW, etc.), photo shoots, wig styling, and informative panels for anime/comic book/sci-fi conventions, and the occasional makeup and hair for short independent films and local theater.
