Paul Mitchell Partner Group
The Wisconsin Academy Team

Meet some of the team members who make The Wisconsin Academy, A Paul Mitchell Partner Group, so special.

Brittney Dequaine

Theory Specialist/Worksheet Specialist, Paul Mitchell School graduate

Experience in education…

I am just beginning my education career with Paul Mitchell.

Experience in the beauty industry…

I have been a behind-the-chair stylist for almost two years.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

A dear friend that has helped raised me! She has always taught to follow your dreams no matter what you were born into. Your past doesn’t make your future!

My favorite thing about working at The Wisconsin Academy is…

The feeling of family every day, and knowing you are cared about! I love how much everyone tries to help each other reach goals. Being here is never work!

To me, living beautifully means…

Doing your best to help, give, and be there for others. The best way to do that is by surrounding yourself with people who value the same!

Anna Slawinski

Director/Color Specialist, Paul Mitchell School graduate

Experience in education…

I have been teaching at the Wisconsin Academy for five years now as Core Learning Leader, color, cutting, texture, and theory specialist, as well as education leader. In 2013, I also became a national educator for John Paul Mitchell Systems.

Experience in the beauty industry…

In addition to working in our amazing Paul Mitchell Schools, I have nine years of experience behind the chair!

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

I have numerous mentors in my life, but my parents and children have been the most inspiring. My parents taught me that nothing in life comes easy or free, and that when you work hard to achieve your goals, not only will you reach them, but you will have so much more value and respect for them! My children have taught me to be fearless, to take risks, be silly, and have fun. Children are honest and fearless—who wouldn’t want to be just like them!

My favorite thing about working at The Wisconsin Academy is…

Not only my incredible staff, but the Future Professionals who show up every day ready to learn. I love seeing their excited faces when reaching their “aha  moments," and they are always willing to say "yes!" I am a visionary myself, so there is nothing better than being surrounded by visionaries!

To me, living beautifully means…

Staying true to who you are; never losing yourself for any person or reason; never forgetting to live in the present; seizing every moment that comes your way; recognizing the power of love and faith in all of its forms! Remembering that when you become overwhelmed, just breathe and remember how blessed you really are—life is beautiful!

Desiree Rohde

Core Specialist

Experience in education…

I have been a licensed instructor for 10 years.

Experience in the beauty industry…

I have been in the beauty industry for 32 years, working in small-town salons as well as corporate, chain, and franchise salons. I also was a sales rep for beauty supplies, styled hair for funeral homes, and managed a nursing home salon.

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

My mom. There is not a single time in my life that she hasn’t been there for me. She is the first to lend a hand when someone needs help. She shows love in so many ways to so many people. She has a heart of gold, is a true supporter in everything I do, and a trusted best friend. She is my life and my everything! Another mentor is Zig Ziglar. I loved his motivational speaking.

My favorite thing about working at The Wisconsin Academy is…

Being Core specialist. I love the interaction with the new Future Professionals and their excitement and determination when they reach those “aha moments." I love the Paul Mitchell culture and philosophy, and being inspired by the other Learning Leaders in developing my educational skills.

To me, living beautifully means…

Helping others is an integral part of living a beautiful life, along with taking care of myself spiritually, emotionally, and physically. I count my blessings and appreciate what I have in life every day.
