My mom, Cristina. She moved here from Cuba at age six with her family, and has achieved so much in her lifetime. She taught me to always provide for myself and to help others.

Helping people make the decision to become a Future Professional, and watching them grow into great professionals.

My father was always encouraging. I lost him in 1990 to cancer, and I want to continue to live my life in a way that would make him proud.

I am loving the culture and the opportunity to work with wonderful people. I love meeting the guest artists that visit. I also love the Core classroom environment.

Enjoying life to the fullest. Inside beauty is as important as outer beauty.

My mother. Growing up, she was an amazing role model for my sister and I. Idolizing such an amazing human being molded me into a successful, driven, and confident individual.

I have eight years of experience as a cosmetology instructor.

I have over 12 years' experience in the beauty industry.

 

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

My daddy, Eddie Wright. He has experienced a hard life and has been able to live it to the fullest because of the decisions he's made. He has always been my number one supporter along with my mother, Pat Wright. The two of them together made me who I am today.

I am able to share my passion of cosmetology with the Future Professionals and impact each individual positively.

 

To me, living beautifully means…

To know yourself and being able to define what beauty is to you as an individual, working continuously toward building a beautiful life for yourself, and appreciating who you are and what you have to offer.

I started working as a stylist in 2008 and became an educator in 2013. 

My mentor or person who inspired me...

I have been lucky enough to have two mentors that shaped my life and career. My mother taught me a relentless work ethic and compassion for others. And Jill Kohler, she showed me the ins and outs, and how to truly thrive in all facets of this wonderful industry. 

My favorite thing about Paul Mitchell The School Roanoke is...

The diversity of the students that I teach. Every student comes from a different, unique background but are all excited to learn and be part of the Paul Mitchell culture we have here at Paul Mitchell The School Roanoke.

To me living beautifully means...

Exploring and respecting the beautiful culture the world has to offer. To truly understand living beautifully you have to seek the beauty outside of your comfort zone whether it be through travel, your career or just the people around you.

I'm a homegrown educator. I went to Paul Mitchell the School Gastonia, graduated and moved to Charleston, SC to work for a Paul Mitchell Focus Salon. After getting my feet wet for a year, I moved back to go through the educator program with Paul Mitchell the School Gastonia. I worked as a Learning Leader, certified and eventually became the Education Leader. After taking a break to have my daughter, I was welcomed to the Paul Mitchell the School Roanoke family.

Tabitha Coffey inspires me to practice my skills until I can't get them wrong.

My favorite thing about PMTS is their philanthropy work and the culture, I love that we have the opportunity to make a difference.

A longtime friend of my mother, Cleaveland Swain of Diva's House of Hair. I was told that I was too talented to not follow my dreams in the hair industry

Feeling and looking great because if you are upifted, you will have a better attitude about everything, even if things arent going so great.

I am a licensed nail technician, cosmetologist, and cosmetology instructor, and certified in esthetics. I owned Windsor Rose Salon for two and a half years, and have worked as an educator, registrar, and educational director since 2003.

 

My mentor, or the person who has most inspired me is…

My family and friends, especially my mom and dad. They have always been there for me as support, encouragement, and strength when I didn’t think I had any, and most of all believed in me and my abilities. My parents are people that I look up to and hope to become.

 

My favorite thing about working at Paul Mitchell The School Roanoke is…

The atmosphere for the students—it's uplifting and positive.

Treating others with respect no matter what their situation may be.

I started my cosmetology career at 16, always knowing that I wanted something more in the industry, and to be able to inspire others in their dreams.

My mentor, or person who has most inspired me is.... 
Susan Hutchinson - She inspired me to always push for what I want and to make my dreams a reality, and was a huge inspiration for me to be a part of education​.​ She was one of the very first people to help me see that ​'​can​'​not ​the '​can'​t​'​. ​My younger brother and sister also inspire me​, they always encourage me to be the best inspiration and example possible to them. 

My favorite thing about working at PMTS Roanoke is...
The culture, atmosphere, and being able to assist others in fulfilling and living out t​heir passions and dreams.

To me, living beautifully means...
To truly love and respect yourself while helping others by building them up, and being grateful for what you are blessed with. "If you see something beautiful in someone speak it."

I would definitely say my mother. My whole life I've watched her achieve everything she's set her mind to and persevere through any challenges she's faced.
