Essay Topic and $1,000 Scholarship Opportunity

Write a minimum of 200 words that explains your interest in the beauty industry. Tell us why you chose this career, who/what inspired you, what you are excited about learning, your career goals, and why you feel SFIEC is the right school for you. OPI Scholarship: Once a month O·P·I will be awarding a different cosmetology student with a $500.00 Scholarship towards their Cosmetology Program at an O·P·I Preferred Cosmetology School.

The Alice Madden Barton Scholarship Program: Current students, high school students, and anyone interested in cosmetology or barbering as a career can apply for a scholarship through the Alice Madden Barton Scholarship program. These scholarships can be used at any cosmetology or barbering school. The scholarships are given out twice a year in January and July to applicants who can demonstrate a passion for the craft and dedication to developing their skills. The deadlines for applications are June 30 and December 31.

Beauty Schools Directory $2,500 Cosmetology Scholarship: Future students of the beauty disciplines – including cosmetology, barbering, esthetics and skin care, nail technology, makeup artistry and several others – can apply for these $2,500 scholarships for cosmetology school. This beauty school scholarship is awarded four times per year, and may be used at most schools nationwide. The scholarship recipient is selected from the pool of individuals who submit their scholarship applications before the deadline each quarter, and meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the rules. Deadlines: January 31, April 30, July 31 and October 31 each year.

The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation: The Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship Foundation was established in 1994 by his wife of 39 years, Flo Francis, and the many people whom Joe Francis advised and mentored to their own success in the industry. The mission of the foundation is to help deserving students receive financial assistance for the professional training necessary to build successful, long-term careers in the cosmetology industry. Applications are accepted January 1st through June 1st each year.

PBA Sally Beauty Scholarship: Seven $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high school graduates desiring to enter the cosmetology profession.

PBA Minerva Beauty Scholarship: Five $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students currently enrolled in an accredited cosmetology program.

Beauty Changes Lives: The American Association of Cosmetology Schools and their partners are offering the chance to win a scholarship towards education to begin an exciting career in the beauty and wellness industry. Prospective students with a start no later than August 4,2014 at a qualified cosmetology school can enter and the winners will receive a $2,000 scholarship towards a course at a qualified school. Courses include: cosmetology, esthetics, nails, barbering or massage.

AURIE J. GOSNELL SCHOLARSHIP: Annually, four $1,250 scholarships will be awarded to individuals desiring to enter the cosmetology, barber, esthetics or nail technology professions.

Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund: Not specifically cosmetology-related, the Rankin Foundation gives scholarship money to low-income women trying to go back to school for a new career.
