Make-up Artistry - Film Industry Related
Learn about the art of professional makeup from instructors who are knowledgeable, experienced makeup specialists. This program goes beyond the makeup basics taught in most cosmetology programs and delivers in-depth preparation for you to start a career as a makeup artist. From hands-on training in application techniques to consultation and development of a hard-copy makeup portfolio you’ll discover the skills you need to begin a career as a makeup artist in salons, spas, bridal, editorial, runway, film, and television.

Makeup Artist
During this 600 hour course, you will learn how to create period makeup from the 1800s to now using television and film character referencing and specialized techniques with a strong emphasis on high-definition detail for the camera. You will learn techniques in natural application, evening application, camouflage makeup, corrective makeup, character development, high-definition photography, editorial, glamour, bridal, and high-definition television, film, and theater makeup. You will also learn how to use and create special effects makeup for zombie, injuries, and everything black-and-blue!
Professional career development workshops are offered that include union requirements, film/television set etiquette, portfolio creation, resume writing, job searching, and interviewing skills.
