Grants and scholarships are often called "gift aid" because they are free money—financial aid that doesn't have to be repaid. Federal Pell Grants usually are awarded only to undergraduate students who have not earned a bachelor's or a professional degree. Paul Mitchell Schools and other private or non-profit organizations also offer scholarships. Ask your school's admissions leader what is available.
SUBSIDIZED AND UNSUBSIDIZED LOANS

The U.S. Department of Education offers eligible students at participating schools Direct Subsidized Loans and Direct Unsubsidized Loans. (Some people refer to those loans as Stafford Loans or Direct Stafford Loans.)
