Take a moment to get to know a few extraordinary Paul Mitchell The School Boise alumni. Their stories speak to the power of dreaming big and getting a great education.
“I am a graduate of PMTS Boise’s Cosmetology program. As a little girl growing up I had always had big dreams of either becoming famous or working behind the scenes in the world of Hollywood and stars. As I grew up, my dreams and ideas were shifted through the eyes of my educators & leaders who told me I needed to go to a traditional University instead."
"A part of me knew that I wanted to get my cosmo license and work in a high-end salon downtown and the other half of me thought I should apply for a traditional college. With that, I decided to follow my high school teachers advice, believing they knew best. I applied for BSU and.... thankfully got DENIED(yes... DENIED). The best thing that could have ever happened to me. Though I was defeated and hurt, I listened to the positive and kind words of my mother who told me, “God has another plan for you Kinsley.” She was right."
"Soon after we toured Paul Mitchell I knew immediately this is where I wanted to be. I graduated high school and one month later began school at PMTS. I knew exactly where I wanted to work, Lunatic Fringe. A company built around strong goals, continued growth, and like-minded people. I worked my butt off in school, built a huge resume, kept in touch with the owners, and stayed focused on what I wanted. At the end of my 2,000 hours, I was offered a position at the salon of my dreams and I am now working at my dream job."
"I have had a lot of people in the last year tell me “Kinsley, you are so lucky to be working In that Salon” or “You’re so lucky that you get to do what you love” but for me, it’s not about luck. I am a hard worker and I’ve worked for everything that I have. Luck did not get me here, hard work on my part along with the education and encouragement of my Learning Leaders at Paul Mitchell got me to where I am today and I am forever grateful for Paul Mitchell The School staff, family and friends who encouraged me to live my dreams. To my learning leaders, I love you to death and to the current students, don’t give up and stay focused on your dream!”
