2024 Beacon Winners Include 38 from Paul Mitchell Schools
The Professional Beauty Association (PBA), whose mission is to advocate and fight for the rights and professionalism of the beauty industry, has announced the results of its 2024 Beacon competition. This year’s winners include 38 Future Professionals from 13 Paul Mitchell franchise schools.
Each entrant completed a rigorous application process, including a Canvas Me resume, video introduction, Instagram portfolio, and letter of recommendation. Selected by a panel of industry judges including salon and spa owners, manufacturers, and distributors, these top students will gather in June at the Premiere Orlando beauty show.
Designed to inspire and prepare students for successful careers, the Beacon program offers the unique opportunity to network with owners from prestigious salons across the U.S., gain insights from industry experts, develop lifelong connections, and obtain invaluable skills.
The class of 2024 will meet and learn from industry experts such as Geno Stampora, Sam Villa, Fallyn Mireault, Cole Thompson, and PMTS alumni Shaun Brezanin and Elizabeth Faye.
This year’s class will also attend the 35th annual North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) and receive over $1,000 in free product from swag bags provided by Beacon and NAHA sponsors.
Thanks to a grant from the Andrew Gomez Dream Foundation, funded largely by the Paul Mitchell Schools’ annual FUNraising campaign, Beacon winners are eligible to apply for travel grants of up to $250 per person. This generous grant is intended to help students cover travel expenses to Beacon so all students can advance their careers without feeling financially overwhelmed.
